1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Norvstar ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Norvstar is a professional profile platform that allows users to create and share their professional identity, including work history, portfolio projects, writing, and other professional content. We offer both free and paid subscription tiers with varying features.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create on Norvstar. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

  • Display your public profile content to visitors
  • Store and backup your content
  • Process your content to provide the Service

You are solely responsible for your content and agree not to post:

  • Content that violates any law or regulation
  • Content that infringes on others' intellectual property
  • Harassing, abusive, or discriminatory content
  • Spam, malware, or deceptive content
  • Content that impersonates others
  • Sexually explicit or violent content

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems
  • Use automated means to access the Service without permission
  • Scrape or collect user data without consent
  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Circumvent any access or rate limiting measures

6. Paid Subscriptions

Billing: Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until then.

Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days notice. Price changes apply at your next billing cycle.

Payment Processing: Payments are processed by Stripe. Your payment information is handled according to Stripe's terms and privacy policy.

7. Custom Domains

Pro users may connect custom domains to their profiles. You are responsible for maintaining ownership and proper configuration of any custom domains. We reserve the right to remove custom domain access if the domain is used for prohibited purposes.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by Norvstar and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of our Service without permission.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services (LinkedIn, GitHub, Substack, etc.) for data import. Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third party's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NORVSTAR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Norvstar from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Norvstar operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules.

17. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
